Conclusion
Closing Statement:
In conclusion, there are good and
bad things about homeschooling and for each family it varies on what will work
for them. Taking into account the advantages and disadvantages, you must make
sure everything before you take a decision about pushing your kids into public
school, or pulling them out. Public school or homeschooling seen well but it
also can be bad depending from the ability of the parents to dedicate a lot of
time. Whatever the decision is, I think the most important thing is to make
sure that the child is in the best learning environment possible. Do that and
everything else can work itself out.
HOMESCHOOLING
Educating our children is one of the
most important responsibilities. Nowadays, parents choose to homeschooled their
children for many different reasons. Sometimes a kid sick and can’t go to
regular school. But more often, kids are homeschooled because their parents
feel they can give their child a better education than the public school can.
Deciding if homeschooling is the best option for your family is something that
has to be given a lot of thought, and though it may be tough, could be exact
what are you looking for. On the other hand, if there are too many complicating
factors involved, then it would be safer for your Childs education to enroll
them in school, and allow the system to educate them. Both ways have their
positives and also negative, like homeschooling could be the right ways of
learning, but it has advantages, as well as the disadvantages from it.
Attending public school, there are a
lot of things that end up to waste the time that is can be eliminated with a
homeschooled environment. The travel time to school (and back), the breaks
between classes, and disruptions from other students are all things that waste
time in which students could be learning. When learning at home, a lot of those
are eliminated, and that time can be saved for more another options such as
reading breaks, or even ending the sessions of the day a little bit earlier.
Having complete control over the schedule, and not having to rely on other
factors for how long is spent on a topic, you can set longer time for the fun
subject. Working in your own breaks at home can subject, they can go out and play
for a while.
At home the students immediate
access to the “teacher”, and can ask question any time without having to worry
about others. This can be huge advantage, because if the students don’t
understand something, you can stop and go over it with them, without to worry
about a class full of students falling behind. But the important that if at
home the child is having a lot of fun subject, so the session can be longer to
learn.
These are a lot of tools out there
that can use by a parent in order to teach their kids at home. By using those
and by taking advantage of the world around us, the kids can get a cheap
practice but still have an educational meaning. If the parents want teach about
history, they can bring their children to the museum and make it like museum
tour, or go to library can be a nice breaks but still fun and educational at
the same time. All subjects can be real-life practice so that will correlate to
what you are teaching, and by moving lesson around, you will be able to show a
different and potentially more interesting side of all subjects. From that you
decide what they are going to read, and you can provide them with a lot of
literature that can’t even be found in schools anymore.
One of debated topics with
advantages to home schooling is being able to keep your children closer, and
more protected. By not forcing them to go through the bad side of public
education, they won’t be exposed to real world issues such as smoking, drugs
and sex as often as a public school child would. This can help them to keep
away from it, and taught well about the problems that could be associated with
these vices. The opposite side is, if you aren’t faced with things like that,
you may not know how to react when it happen into real life situation where
they are in play. That could be a risk if you are doing homeschooling, but
making sure that your kids have all of the information at hand, so they can
make right decisions.
The parents can choose the best
tutors or teachers for their children, if they thought that they don’t have a
capability to teach. The tutor or teacher usually more experts in their fields
and have a good skill for teaching. The teacher can bring the student to
research the issue together.
The main disadvantages of
homeschooling will be the lack of socialization by your children. Some
homeschoolers may feel cut off from their friends or not being able to
associate with other kids because they feel like too much spend the time with
their families. An inability to socialize well, shyness that comes with not
being around other kids, and they made work better as an individual rather than
in team or group. And like any child, they may be on sport teams, in dance
classes, or take part in other activities outside of school, all that social
skills have an open environment to hang out with kids their own age, and if not
in school, then there should be another source.
Another disadvantage to being
homeschooled is that resources aren’t as enough as they are in public school
setting. The theory is that schools will have better books, and the teachers
will have a better education than a parent does, the parents must be willing to
be a person for everything. The cost of homeschooling is not cheap, because to
complete the children education, the parents must pay the tutors, purchase the
textbooks and teaching materials and it makes it harder for the family that is
doing the homeschooling.
The final disadvantage is the
inadequate teaching skills from the parents to educate their children at home.
Almost parents lost their patience and become frustration when they have to
teach and answer the question about all subjects that they kids ask to them.
Because not all subjects that the parents understand with good. The effect from
that is the kids become frustrated when the parents are giving a hard subject,
and that when they get flustered, you can’t allow yourself to do the same. It
is important that you are able to separate at times the role of parents and
teacher, because you will have to be there for your child in a different manner
in times like these. The key is that you have to know that you will be teaching
and that really is going to be a full-time job.

Helping Children Discover Their Own Identity

C.
Conclusion
Closing statement:
The best way parents can aid their
children is by successfully discovering their true identity and growing up to
be an emotionally mature adult is to take a flexible approach. Parents need not
always rigidly follow and impose certain norms and values, which are imbued
with their family tradition during their childhood, on their children.
HELPING CHILDREN DISCOVER THEIR OWN IDENTITY
Nowadays, children are different
from those in the past. The modern technology makes their easier to get a lot
of information. For knowledge about the world also easy to get in this new era,
so learn about technology is very important.
First, the parents need to
understand about to changing of their child’s world, and give positive respond
on it. Along those lines, control from the parents still need.
Moreover, in different families have
also different rules, like who raised in democratize family usually have a
freedom to do their childhood. But in conservative and authoritative family
usually more tight with the rules to their children based on the correct norms
and values.
Another influence from the parent’s
family background can be the formula to his/ her children to learn both formal
and informal education. But the parents must remember that not all the mind-set
which their adapted from their parents can be useful for the children in this
modern reality. Everything has changed now, so parents have to compare with the
academic achievement. However, a lot of parents still think and act like they
know what the best for their children are from their values and norms.
In helping children to find their
identity, today’s the parents should listen and take a feedback from their
children. It seems hard to do for the conservative or traditional parents, but
have a good impact to develop the emotional for their Child until they mature
enough.
The other thing that the
parents should do is not too use their power to overprotect their child,
because it can make their child’s ability being unable. The intervention from
the parent not always good but can be a bad solution. Sometimes the parents
forget that the children just want them to stay in the lines and being a supporter
and resource to help their children to face the world.
This is not an easy situation. In
the other hand parents need to help their children from the socialized problems
that may come. They must give a best ways to help their children not just a
family standards but the right attitude for them.
The important things for helping their children
is to find their identity with the best ways and let their being mature with
good emotional. Parents do not need to overprotect and lead strict rules from
their tradition during their childhood, on their children. Try to look from
your children side that wills a best experience for them.
